Canadian Visas & eTA

Workshop participants holding Russian passports will need a visa to enter Canada. Individuals who wish to attend the Workshop are responsible for obtaining the Canadian visa before their travel.

Workshop participants holding Japanese and Korean passports will need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before traveling to Canada. The application and payment of a fee for eTA (C$7.00) can be made online. The processing of eTA applications usually takes about 72 hours. Applicants will receive an e-mail notification once their applications are processed.

Transportation From YVR Airport to the Holiday Inn & Suites Vancouver Downtown

By Taxi

Please visit Taxis | YVR for details on rules and regulations regarding fares and accessibility. Effective October 11, 2024, the cost from YVR Airport to the Holiday Inn & Suites Vancouver Downtown is CAD 46.00 (ZONE Canada Place/Downtown).

Participants can hire a taxi at YVR Airport on a first come first serve basis from one of the two taxi stands. Taxi stands are located on International Arrivals Level 2 and Domestic Arrivals Level 2 and are served by licensed taxi operators. For South Terminal passengers, the taxi stand is located right outside the terminal.

Public Transportation (Canada Line)

Please visit Public Transportation | YVR for details on Canada Line’s accessibility. Canada Line’s YVR–Airport station is centrally located between the Airport’s International and Domestic terminals. Kindly note that trips starting at the YVR–Airport station will incur an additional CAD 5.00 charge. This charge, called the “YVR Airport AddFare,” is used to support the cost of running SkyTrain’s Canada Line. Participants will need to exit at Yaletown-Roundhouse station and walk (7 min) to the Holiday Inn & Suites Vancouver Downtown. The total cost per trip per adult from YVR–Airport to downtown Vancouver will be CAD 9.85 (i.e., from YVR–Airport station to Yaletown-Roundhouse station).

Travelling from the Holiday Inn & Suites Vancouver Downtown to the Workshop Venue

Walking

It is a 20 minute (1.3 km) walk from the hotel to the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue.

Public Transportation (Canada Line)

Participants will need to walk (7 min) to Yaletown-Roundhouse station and take the Canada Line Skytrain to Waterfront Station. The Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue is a 3 minute walk from Waterfront Station.
